THE GERALD GREEN SHOW
“I think this could be good for Gerald,” former Boston Celtic Dee Brown told the Boston Herald on Sunday. “He gave the organization a little bright light, and hopefully this will catapult him into being more confident. He’s a good player, and maybe now he can separate himself from the crowd.”

To be honest, when Mandy Murphy over at Reebok sent this shirt my way last week, I wasn’t all that convinced. Really? The Gerald Green Show? The same Gerald Green who dabbled in the National Basketball Developmental League last season? The same one who averages under 10 points for a team that made Sportscenter highlights last week for winning their first game in nineteen tries? Guess that shows you how much I know.
Gerald Green is one of the best young players in the League that hardly anyone is talking about. By now, you should know that Green, the Boston Celtics’ 21-year-old swingman, is the 2007 NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner. And all he had to do to win was jump over Nate Robinson and a table (he also paid homage to former Slam Dunk champ Dee Brown during the Robinson dunk — wearing a Brown jersey and the Reebok Pump sneaker that Brown fashioned in 1991). With that, he put himself on the radar for those of us that didn't know (or believe) yet.
Word to Dee.

Extra Point:
Don't discredit Dwight Howard's dunk, either. My opinion? If the crowd (and Michael Jordan!) had been able to see the sticker a little better, Howard is in the finals. Unfortunately, judging by their relatively-quiet initial response to his dunk, they didn't.

Dwight Howard's sticker dunk was the bomb. He should have been in the finals against GG. Nate Robinson can't hold D-Howard's jock.
