Exclusive: Why Carmelo Anthony Lost His Braids!
Okay, not really. I don't actually know why Carmelo Anthony lost his braids. I heard it was because it fell in line with his whole "when you grow up, you clean up" mentality. After his arrest on suspicion of DUI earlier this year and several other brushes with the law since his entrance into the NBA back in 2003, his reputation hasn't exactly sparkled around the league. But he did just win an Olympic gold medal, so I'm guessing time is really all he needs to get that back into place.
If I had to guess, I'd say the guy just got tired of getting his hair braided every week. Nonetheless, he definitely picked a good time to lose his locks. He just opened up a barbershop in Denver called STUDIO 15. He also probably just made himself a couple extra bucks by consenting to do this video for EA Sports. It's a good thing 'Melo's good at ball, because he ain't exactly selling me on his acting skills here. But it's worth a watch for the LaLa cameo at the end.
Now if only 'Melo coulda talked some sense into A.I. before he left for Detroit...
