A Vibe.com editorial you'll probably loathe: "Andre3000 is overrated"

Like I told a white friend of mine who wants to get dreadlocks, don't get it twisted, I'm a dedicated Outkast fan who thinks that Andre3000 is doper that a George W. Bush urine sample circa 1970 - and if I had a dollar for every time I told someone that Big Boi is criminally underrated I could buy a third world country, with change left over to go on a "hooker and coke" binge for an entire month with Las Vegas serving as the backdrop. That being said, respectfully, I feel that Andre3000 is a bit overrated - a thought that entered my mind a couple of months ago after my boy Udi sent me this Vh1 link and asked me what I thought about it. I know, I know, I shouldn't put too much energy dissecting peoples "Best Of" lists - just look at how I let my blood pressure reach dangerous levels over those baboons asses, I mean, the "Brain Trust" over at MTV and their botched abortions that they call their "Best Of" lists. But noticing that Andre3000 was part of most people's Top 5 kind of peaked my interest a bit, so I did a pretty unscientific poll where I reached out to as many of my degenerate friends who would murder a motherfucker for Rakim's notebook circa 86' as I could - and they pretty much concurred with most of the gentleman on that vh1 page concerning Andre3000.
Really? I mean, I'm a fan of the brother, and I know that taking issue with someones opinion is a losing battle akin to my own mental struggle trying to figure out how in the fuck a 450 pound man that I know has been a vegetarian all of his life - but are we so starved of quality lyricism that MC's are unjustly propelled to a rank that doesn't match their skill level? Again, I think that Andre leaves the microphone smoking every time, the kid is nice - its just this writers humble opinion that the Atlanta MC just isn't "Top 5" nice. Besides, maybe this is just my snobbery rearing its ugly head - but even if I did think that he was the second coming to the god Rakim, I'd have to penalize him for the fact that he simply doesn't rhyme enough for me. Sure, he did his thing on UGK's "International Players Anthem" and held his own on the Jay-Z remix for "30 Something" with Ice Cube, but lets not break out the anointing oils just yet - only an artist like Sade can get away with dropping gems every Hailey's comment, having her fans acting like no time has past at all. I don't know, I just have a problem giving props to anyone who seems to be so conflicted about rhyming - I could be wrong, it wouldn't come as a complete shock if I was.

But HumanityCritic has a point, the dude is overrated - and shouldn't be in anyone's top ten based on how little he rhymes. Period.

Andre MURDERS every remix that he is on.
Even Rakim mentioned how nice he was and eminem stated that he is one his 5 favorites.
He even made that wack-ass WALK IT OUT remix dope.
I disagree.
I disagree, homeboy. (Hollywood shuffle)
